Description: This spell has two modes of operation: targeting a single outsider, or summoning a planar ally. Targeted outsiders are paralyzed for 1 round per 2 caster levels. The type of summoned ally is based on the the specific summon stream. Conjuring a summon that is different from the caster's alignment is subject to alignment divergence and losing control of the summon. One can see the chance of hostility using the -stream command, use -stream ? for more details.
