Poison Crafting
Poisons can be crafted via herbalism. Some potent poisons require either poison immunity (Venom Immunity, Diamond Body or Perfect Health Feats) to craft them or the Use Poison feat.
The poisons that has this requirement in the tables bellow will be marked with "Poison Specialist" in their material list.

Edible Poison
Edible Poison
These are crafted through Herbalism and cannot be applied through weapons. Instead, they serve to poison food and drinks of any type in Arelith.
These are crafted through Herbalism and cannot be applied through weapons. Instead, they serve to poison food and drinks of any type in Arelith. Applying an edible poison to a magical potion, food, or drink item will guarantee it afflicts the consuming character.

*The initial saving throw against these poisons is hidden. Detect Poison can still be used to reveal them.
*When ingested, the DC of these poisons increases based on the victim's level, giving them a reasonable chance to affect higher-level characters.

Each application of an edible poison to a water source will cumulatively increase the % chance of afflicting a drinking character by the following: (Applying PC's Assassin levels) + (Poison DC/4) + (d2)

Custom Poison
These poisons work not unlike essences. They are applied to either slashing or piercing weapons (or ammunition of the sort), adding an on-hit property to it. The poison does not dissipate on a successful hit or a successful poisoning, and it is only removed when the duration runs out. These poisons usually last 10-15 minutes. Most of them are crafted through Herbalism, or rarely found as loot.

*All these poisons have the "unlimited use/day" property, but this only means that they won't be applied and wasted if you try to use them in an incompatible item. They will only be used and consumed when they are applied to a proper weapon.

*Immunity to poison grants a +10 bonus to the DEX check when coating weapons with them.

Poisons are substances that can be applied to weapons or other items in order to potentially weaken a creature on a failed save. Arelith's poisons are specifically divided in three types, Default, Edible and Custom.

Default Poison

These come already scripted by default in NWN and work exactly as they would in the base game.

See:

http://nwn.wikia.com/wiki/Poison
http://nwn.wikia.com/wiki/Poison_(item)

Poison Crafting

Poisons can be crafted via herbalism. Some potent poisons require either poison immunity (Venom Immunity, Diamond Body or Perfect Health Feats) to craft them or the Use Poison feat.

The poisons that has this requirement in the tables bellow will be marked with "Poison Specialist" in their material list.

Edible Poison

These are crafted through Herbalism and cannot be applied through weapons. Instead, they serve to poison food and drinks of any type in Arelith. Applying an edible poison to a magical potion, food, or drink item will guarantee it afflicts the consuming character.

 • The initial saving throw against these poisons is hidden. Detect Poison can still be used to reveal them.
 • When ingested, the DC of these poisons increases based on the victim's level, giving them a reasonable chance to affect higher-level characters.

 • All these poisons have the "unlimited use/day" property, but this only means that they won't be applied and wasted if you try to use them in an incompatible item. They will only be used and consumed when they are applied to a proper weapon.
 • Immunity to poison grants a +10 bonus to the DEX check when coating weapons with them.
 • These poisons ignore Negative Energy Protection, or other effects (excluding poison immunity) that would normally prevent the ability damage of the poisons.
 • Some of the most powerful poisons require Poison Immunity. This actually means that having any of the feats Diamond Body (monk), Perfect Health (epic feat), Use Poison (assassin, blackguard, ranger), or Venom Immunity (druid) will grant the ability to craft these poisons.
 • All these poisons, except the six variants of Centipede Venom, Giant Bee Venom and Spider Venom, will benefit from the increased DCs of Blackguards and Assassins.
