Monk is a default base class with Arelith specific changes.


Introduction

Arelith Monks enjoy many changes that benefit their martial and monk abilities. Mechanical changes are included in the #Class Mechanics on this page and explained in the #Arelith Changes section. Epic Monk

Bonus feats: The epic monk gains a bonus feat every five levels after 20th. In other words, at levels 25 and 30.

Epic bonus feats: armor skin, blinding speed, epic damage reduction, epic energy resistance, epic toughness, improved ki strike 4, improved ki strike 5, improved spell resistance, improved stunning fist, self concealment, epic dodge

Unavailable epic feats: epic weapon specialization, outsider shape, construct shape, dragon shape, undead shape

Arelith Changes

Change Level Description
Combat Mastery - Grants scaling Unarmed AB & Damage bonuses as well as Armed Damage for Monk weapons within Weapon Focus. See the Monk#Combat_Mastery table below.
Monk Weapon Bonuses - Monk Weapons gain the following bonuses at different marks, the bonuses do not stack with each other:
+1 Dmg: Ki Strike 4 OR 20+ lvls of Monk
+1 AB: Ki Strike 4 OR 23+ lvls of Monk
+2 Dmg: Ki Strike 5 OR 24+ lvls of Monk
+2 AB: Ki Strike 5 OR 25+ lvls of Monk
Monk WIS AC bonus - Does not stack with Divine Shield AC. The higher of the two values is used. Read more about divine might & shield changes here.
Monk level AC bonus - No longer gets +1 AC every 5 levels. The character sheet may still show the AC.
Class skills - Monks gain access to Intimidate, Perform, Ride, Sail and Spot as class skills.
Tongue of the Sun and Moon - Each Monk level counts as 2 Lore ranks when it comes to understanding languages you do not speak. Every 10 Monk level also gives you +1 more language you can learn.
Monk Weapon Proficiency - Allows effective use of club, dagger, handaxe, light crossbow, heavy crossbow, kama, katana, katar, naginata, quarterstaff, sai, shuriken, sling and wakizashi. This change adds katar, katana, naginata, nodachi, sai, and wakizashi.

Note: Monk UBAB and Flurry of Blows is removed from Kama.

- Unarmed Combat benefits from the monk unarmed base attack bonus (UBAB) and can be used with Flurry of Blows.
Ki Strike +4 - Wisdom requirement reduced to 16 and grants an additional +1 AB and +2 damage to Unarmed attacks. Also see Monk Weapon Bonuses (above).
Ki Strike +5 - Wisdom requirement reduced to 16 and grants an additional +1 AB and +2 damage to Unarmed attacks for a total of +2 AB and +4 DMG when combined with Ki Strike +4. Also see Monk Weapon Bonuses (above).
Improved Spell Resistance - Each Epic SR feat increases the cap of Diamond Soul (32) spell resistance by +2.
Epic Bonus Feats - May choose Epic Dodge as an epic feat. Monks now receive Defensive Roll and so, as long as they meet the dexterity and tumble requirements, they can choose this feat.
Weapon Focus: Unarmed 2 Gains feat - Weapon Focus: Unarmed.
Monk Speed 3

Grants a level scaled bonus to movement speed which does not stack with haste movement speed or exceed the movement speed cap (150%) under any circumstances.

  • Level 3+: 110%
  • Level 11+: 115%
  • Level 21+: 120%
  • Level 28+: 125%
Slow Fall 3 Reduces fall damage by 10% every 3 levels. Maximum of 100% reduction at level 30.
Evasion 4 Gains Feat - Evasion.
Wholeness of Body 7 10 minute cool down. Heals damage = Monk lvl x WIS Mod. Removes debuffs per Restoration spell.
Diamond Soul 12 Spell Resistance of 10 + Monk lvls, capping at 32 SR.
Uncanny Dodge 12 Gains feat - Uncanny Dodge
Whirlwind Attack 12 Gains feat - Whirlwind Attack
Quivering Palm 15 Has unlimited uses per day but is on a 5 minute cooldown.
Defensive Roll 17 Gains Defensive Roll.
Empty Body 18 5 minute cooldown. Invisibility Purge no longer removes Empty Body 50% concealment effect.
Improved Whirlwind Attack 25 Gains feat - Improved Whirlwind Attack

Combat Mastery


Combat Mastery grants scaling Unarmed AB & Damage bonuses as well as Armed Damage for Monk weapons within a Weapon Focus feat you choose. For example, a Katana would receive the Armed AB and DMG bonuses from Weapon Focus: (one-handed edged).
