The Baatezu Duke called the Soothing Sun collects and studies unique texts written in nonexistent languages and artwork depicting mortals’ nightmares. He takes the form of different many species of bipeds as the mood strikes Him. A shapechanger, He sometimes chooses to have two, four, or eight arms, with long, delicate fingers to sift the pages and pools of His collections.

He always has a great pair of scaled wings that can take Him aloft, and He never wears a face; where His head would be is simply a shining beacon of entoptic burn-light whose after-image is hard to blink away. He is a patron to many cryptic scholars and magicians, to whom He occasionally extends His favor in the form of terrible, revelatory dreams of knowledge.

A convocation of Uniilae maintain and delve the catalogued nightmares and emotions of a thousand mortal generations, which are stored in bottles, and mirrors, and crystals, within His innermost sanctums. His other servants are dispatched to promising mortal cults or cultists as servants or advisors, to their perilous enlightenment.

He is a member of the Nessian Court; His Ducal fiefdom is Kelcan-Vho, a vast asteroid dragging a thousand chains suspended in air that glides, serpent-like, through the canyons of that layer.
