Mages (wizards and sorcerers) require spell components to cast higher level (7-9) spells. In order to be used, the spell components must be kept in a spell components pouch. It's just too fiddly to try to pull them out of your bag while casting spells.
It costs one charge to cast a level 7, two charges for a level 8, and three charges for a level nine spell.
To add components to you spell components pouch, use the spell component pouch's special ability on a stack of spell components. The entire stack of spell components will be consumed, and 5 charges will be added to the spell components pouch for every spell component in the stack, to a maximum of 50 charges. If you use the spell components pouch on a stack of spell components and the amount of charges added would exceed the maximum, the spell components are lost anyway.
