Dispel Tables
This section will hold some sample visual representations with respect to how dispel interacts with a target.

Mechanically when a character is the target of a dispel (Generally a Lesser Dispel, Dispel Magic, Greater Dispelling or Mordekainen's Disjunction), each magical effect on the character is tested and if it fails the dispel check it is removed. Alternatively these spells also offer area of effect targeting with a spell dependent limit on the number of spells per target that area tested and removed.
It is important to note that each magical effect is tested at the Creator's Effective Caster level which may differ from the Effective Caster level of the target, depending on the source of the magical effect.

Dispel Changes
- Area of effect dispels will no longer try to dispel the highest spell level effect(s). Instead they will try to dispel all effects up until two have been removed.*
- Each Spell Focus in Abjuration grants aa cumulative +1 to Dispel rolls for a total of +3. These are applied after the Level Cap imposed by individual spells.
- Arcane Defense: Abjuration increases a characters effective Caster Level by +2 when trying to resist a Dispel.
- Maximum caster level (CL) vs. dispels is capped at 30.
- Example: A level 30 wild mage with Arcane Defence: Abjuration would be capped at 30 CL for dispel defence and would receive no benefit from Arcane Defence: Abjuration
Class Exceptions
- Holy Sword (Paladin spell) is capped at 21 before feats

Caster level 27 Dispel Tables
This is a representation of a standard character with Caster level 22->27 (Caster) casting a dispel on a character with Caster level 27 (Target). Each Dispel spell has a cap (maximium applied) caster level value. There are a variety of modifiers that can be applied to adjust the Caster and Target effective Caster level.
- NOTE: For each Caster Level below 27 that the Target is, the percentage chance of the target being dispelled is increased by 5%. (Where the Target Total exceeds the Caster Total)
- Example: A Target with a Caster Level of 21 and no Arcane Defence: Abjuration will have a 55% chance (45% with Arcane Defence: Abjuration) of each magical effect being dispelled by a 27 Caster Level ESF: Abjuration caster using Greater Dispelling or Mordenkainen's Disjunction.

Greater Dispelling/Mordekainen's Disjunction Tables
These spells are the staple Dispels and share the same Max Caster Level Cap of 23. This means that any Character casting this spell using a class with 23 Caster Levels or higher will hit the Dispel Caster level cap of 23. Of course Mordenkainen's Disjunction also offers a breach mechanism which has an additional impact to the target.
These Tables show the impact of a 23+ Caster Level Dispel being cast against a Target of varying Creator's Effective Caster Level.
If you cross reference the Target's (Creator's) Effective Casting Level against the column with the Caster's Feat, you receive the percentage chance of each affected Magical Effect being removed.

Note: Dispel resistance creator effective casting level is capped at 30. This means that at level 28 with Arcane Spell Defence: Abjuration, you are at the cap. This is the reason that the percentage change of having an effect dispelled is the same between level 28 -> 30.
Additional information
Hybrid Casters
One of the other sources of additional effective caster levels is the Hybrid Casters level 21 bonus of +3 Caster Levels. A hybrid caster is a base melee class with a limited spell book (Example: Ranger, Paladin, Hexblade)
As each Caster level is a 5% reduction in the ability of the target spell to be dispelled, this effectively means that spells cast by a 27 Hybrid Caster have a 15% change of being dispelled by an ESF: Abjuration dispeller with a Caster level of 23 or higher, which is the same as that of a 30 Caster Level character of any other class. It should also be noted that a 25 Hybrid Caster with Spell Defence: Abjuration has a 15% chance of being dispelled by an ESF: Abjuration dispeller with a Caster level of 23 or higher, which is the same as that of a 30 Caster Level character of any other class.
