For turning your character over to final retirement (That is, total deletion never to return again) you are granted in compensation access to the 5% roll.
When you use -delete_character, if your character is in the following level ranges, you have a chance at an award:
*16-20: 5% chance of minor award
*21-25: 5% chance of normal award, 45% chance of minor award
*26-30: 5% chance of major award, 45% chance of normal award, 50% chance of minor award.

Simply put, this roll allows you to pick something you are not normally allowed access to and a number. One of our staff will then roll a single D20 and if they roll your number, 'Presto!' you can create a new character with the desired awesome attribute. Should they not roll your number, nothing happens and your character is lost as expected.
If you are successful, you will get a floaty text message just before you are sent back to character selection on using -delete_character for the second and final time.

The list of awards is currently as follows. All apply only to new characters created after the retirement. Only one award may be redeemed per new character.
*Minor: -1 ECL applied to your character
*Normal: -2 ECL applied to your character OR ability to ride horses OR gift of spell resistance (additional to your normal 3 gift choices, +2 ECL applies)
*Major: Any Normal gift (but ECL reduction is -3 not -2) OR RDD token OR shifter token.

If you want to do something unique, like a custom skin, you can still ask us about it. If you have a Major award, you can use it to do something custom by agreement with JJ as usual. But now you can do the roll in game and only need to contact him if you succeed.

Previously known as the 5% roll.

What is it?

There comes a time when it is time to say goodbye to even the most loved character. Perhaps they have finally perished, or chosen to return forever to life on the sword coast. Regardless of the reason, when it comes time to retire your character Arelith has an operational reward scheme.

When you use -delete_character, if your character is in the following level ranges, you have a chance at an award:

  • 16-20: 5% chance of minor award
  • 21-25: 5% chance of normal award, 45% chance of minor award
  • 26-30: 5% chance of major award, 45% chance of normal award, 50% chance of minor award.

If you are successful, you will get a floaty text message just before you are sent back to character selection on using -delete_character for the second and final time.

The list of awards is currently as follows. All apply only to new characters created after the retirement. Only one award may be redeemed per new character.

  • Minor: -1 ECL applied to your character
  • Normal: -2 ECL applied to your character OR ability to ride horses OR gift of spell resistance (additional to your normal 3 gift choices, +2 ECL applies)
  • Major: Any Normal gift (but ECL reduction is -3 not -2) OR RDD token OR shifter token.

If you want to do something unique, like a custom skin, you can still ask us about it. If you have a Major award, you can use it to do something custom by agreement with JJ as usual. But now you can do the roll in game and only need to contact him if you succeed.

What can I have?

There is an almost limitless list of possibilities for requests for a 5% roll, almost too many to mention. Instead it is much easier to say that you can ask for anything your mind can dream of... Subject to DM's approval.

Common examples include - Wings, Dragon Form, Legendary Weapon, Access to a forbidden Prestige Class, membership in an uncommon race, a background tied to Arelith's history, etc.

But I wanted...

No! See above. The DM's word is final. Always be sure to clear your request -before- killing your character. While the horizons are nearly endless, there are limits for balance and realism reasons. The DM's word is final.

I've changed my Mind!

Too late. Sorry. Once permakilled your character is deleted forever and can never be brought back, exactly the same as if you had deleted it with the relevant console command or it had perished owing to a Mark of Destiny or Despair. Please be sure before asking us to do this!
