The Shadow Weave, which originates from Shar, is a corrupting force of magic similar to the Weave, which originates from Mystra. Like Shar herself, the Shadow Weave is a force based upon nothingness, for while the Weave could be considered a loose latticework running throughout reality, the Shadow Weave is the pattern formed by the negative space in between.

Arcane Casters

Arcane Casters using the Shadow Weave gain the following bonuses and maluses:

Note:: This bonus applies a single time regardless of the number of independent sources of Shadow Weave magic the character has.
Example: A Shadovar race Shadow Mage only receives a single bonus/malus

Divine Casters

Divine Casters worshipping a Diety which grants access to the Shadow Weave gain the following bonuses and maluses:

  • Clerics with over 50% Piety may spend 10% Piety to enter Shadow Doors.
